Yes, it is safe for most carpets. We do not recommend that you use it on wool carpets. It's always a good idea to test any product in a hidden area if you're unsure.

To get the best results from our product, we recommend vacuuming after the solution of Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover has been allowed to dry completely on the soiled area. This helps remove residual stain/soil and helps keep the carpet clean. Vacuuming is the final step in removing carpet stains. Remember to allow the Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder solution to be absorbed, then rinse the area with warm water and soak up the moisture.

What is the best way to apply the Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder solution to my household stains?
Mix a solution of 1/8 scoop of Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder with 2 cups of warm water. We recommend using an open squirt bottle to apply the solution. It is very important to saturate the stain with the Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder solution. Blot and rinse afterwards. Repeat if necessary.
Discard remaining solution after use. We do not recommend leaving dissolved solution in a sealed container. The mixed solution of Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder will lose its efficacy quickly. When activated with water and stored, it may cause the sealed container to leak or rupture. If this happens, cover container with a towel. Slightly open container to ventilate solution. Open fully only when all pressure has been released.

Will I get more cleaning power if I mix Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder with other household cleaning products?
We do not recommend mixing Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder with any other household cleaning products, especially chlorine bleach.

What do I do with left over Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder cleaning solution?
We recommend that you dispose of any left over Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder solution. It is safe to pour down the sink and for septic tanks. DO NOT leave dissolved solution in a sealed container. A mixed solution of Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder will lose its efficacy quickly. When activated with water and stored, it may cause the container to leak or rupture. If this happens, cover the container with a towel, then open the container slightly to ventilate the solution. Open fully only when all pressure has been released.

My house is on a septic system. Is it still safe to use Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder?
Yes. The recommended use of Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder will not have any detrimental effect on a home septic system.

Can I put Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder in a commercial carpet-cleaning machine?
We do NOT recommend putting the product in a commercial machine.

Can Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder be used to treat upholstery?
Yes, on fabric upholstery. It is very important to test a hidden area first. This product is not recommended for vinyl or leather or other fabrics that may be damaged by water. Upholstery types vary tremendously.

Will Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder scratch my kitchen/bathroom surfaces?
Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder can safely be used as a paste on typical kitchen/bath surfaces. When used according to the instructions on the container and properly mixed with water, Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder will not scratch surfaces.
Always mix product in the warmest temperature recommended for the surface. Do not use on any surface that may be damaged by water. Remember to wear rubber gloves when making a paste and to rinse the surface thoroughly with warm water.

Can I mix Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder with water for my spray bottle for use all week?
We do not recommend using Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder in a spray bottle for several reasons: the spray trigger materials may not be compatible with the Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder solution and could corrode; the Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder solution will degrade over time and become ineffective-always make a fresh solution to get the best results; storing the Clorox® Oxi Magic™ stain remover powder solution in a sealed container may cause excess pressure/gas to build up. The solution is better applied by using a squirt bottle. We do not recommend leaving dissolved solution in a sealed container. Clorox® Oxi Magic™, when activated and stored, may loose its efficacy over time and may cause the container to leak or rupture. If this happens, cover container with a towel. Slightly open the container to ventilate solution. Open fully only when all pressure has been released.
